The first of the royal court to leap overboard, the young prince finds himself in an odd angle of the island pondering his fate.  He is sure his father the King of Milan and all of the royal family is drowned at sea.

But all is forgotten when he first lays eyes on Miranda. Swearing his heart, virtue and honor to his new found beloved’s father, Ferdinand soon discovers all of the enchantments of the island.
